PRP Therapy in Oswego, IL

Your own growth factors, harnessed for skin and hair — performed under real medical oversight.

PRP (platelet-rich plasma) therapy uses a small amount of your own blood, processed to concentrate the platelets and growth factors, then re-introduced to specific tissues to accelerate healing and stimulate regeneration. At Hello Gorgeous, we use PRP three ways: as an add-on to microneedling for enhanced collagen response, as injections for hair restoration, and topically for advanced skin rejuvenation. Every treatment is supervised by Ryan Kent, FNP-BC and performed using FDA-cleared centrifuge and collection systems.

What is PRP? How it works

PRP is created by drawing a small amount of your blood (about a tube's worth), spinning it in a centrifuge to separate the components, and isolating the layer rich in platelets and growth factors. Those growth factors — when re-introduced to skin or hair follicles via injection or topical application — signal the body's natural healing and regeneration processes. For skin: increased collagen production, faster wound healing after microneedling, improved tone and texture. For hair: stimulation of dormant hair follicles, often slowing or partially reversing pattern hair loss in appropriate candidates.

Pricing & packages

PRP add-on to microneedling starts from $200 in addition to the base microneedling cost. PRP injections for hair restoration start from $450 per session (most clients benefit from a series of 3–4 sessions). Topical PRP add-ons to facials are quoted at consultation.

What to expect at your appointment

  1. Free consultation — assess goals, screen for contraindications, and decide whether PRP makes sense for your case.
  2. Blood draw — small amount drawn from your arm, similar to a routine lab draw.
  3. PRP preparation — blood is processed in our in-office centrifuge for 10–15 minutes.
  4. Application — depending on treatment: injected (hair restoration), applied during microneedling (skin), or used in a facial.
  5. Recovery — similar to the base treatment (microneedling has 1–3 days of redness; hair injections have minimal downtime).

Frequently asked questions

Does PRP really work for hair loss?
For appropriate candidates, yes — typically clients with mild to moderate pattern hair loss who still have viable follicles. Results vary; some clients see significant regrowth, others see slowed loss. Best results come from a series of 3–4 initial sessions followed by maintenance every 6–12 months. We're honest about realistic expectations.
How is PRP different from PRF?
PRF (platelet-rich fibrin) is a newer version where the blood is processed differently to produce a thicker, slower-releasing concentrate. We offer both depending on the application. PRP works faster and is better for treatments where you want immediate growth factor release; PRF releases over a longer window.
Is PRP safe?
Yes — because it uses your own blood, there's no risk of allergic reaction or disease transmission from foreign material. The main risks are minor: temporary swelling, bruising, soreness at injection sites.
How many sessions will I need?
Skin/microneedling: 3 sessions spaced 4–6 weeks apart for optimal collagen response. Hair restoration: 3–4 initial sessions, then maintenance every 6–12 months.
Will my insurance cover it?
Cosmetic PRP is not covered by insurance. We provide HSA/FSA-compatible receipts.
