Lip Filler in Oswego, IL
Lips that look like yours — only better. Conservative dosing, no overfill, results you'd actually want photographed.
Lip filler is one of our most-requested services — and one of the most over-done in the industry. At Hello Gorgeous, we believe your lips should look like your lips. Bigger, better defined, more hydrated, more symmetrical — but still recognizably yours. We use conservative dosing, build slowly over multiple visits if needed, and respect natural anatomy. If you've been hesitant to try lip filler because you've seen too many 'duck lips' on social media, you're in the right place.

What is Lip Filler? How it works
Lip filler uses hyaluronic acid gel — the same family of product used in dermal fillers — to add volume, definition, and shape to the lips. Depending on your goals, we may add volume to the lip body, sharpen the cupid's bow, define the vermillion border (the edge of the lip), or address asymmetry between upper and lower. Each lip is unique — the right plan depends on what you start with and where you want to go. Most clients start with a half-syringe or full syringe and assess from there. Results last 9–15 months depending on the product, the dose, and your metabolism. Lips are highly mobile, so they tend to metabolize filler faster than less-active areas like cheeks.

What to expect at your appointment
- Free consultation — we look at your lips at rest and when smiling, discuss your goals (more volume? more definition? more symmetry?), and recommend a starting dose. We take photos for comparison.
- Pre-treatment: numbing cream applied for 20–30 minutes. The filler itself contains lidocaine for added comfort.
- Treatment: 20–30 minutes. We work in small increments, checking shape and symmetry as we go. You'll feel pressure rather than sharp pain. Most clients tolerate it well.
- Immediately after: expect swelling for 24–72 hours — your lips will look bigger than the final result for the first day or two. Avoid heat, alcohol, and strenuous exercise for 24 hours to minimize swelling.
- Follow-up: 2-week check-in. By this point swelling has resolved and we can assess true final result. Touch-ups for asymmetry from technique are complimentary.
Frequently asked questions
- How much does lip filler cost?
- Lip filler is $450 for 1 syringe, or $399 each when you book 2 syringes. Half-syringe options are available for subtle starts or maintenance. Most first-time clients use 1 syringe; we confirm exact pricing at your free consultation.
- How long does lip filler last?
- Most clients see lip filler last 9–15 months. Lips are highly active (talking, eating, expressing), so they metabolize filler faster than less-mobile areas. Many clients maintain with a small touch-up every 8–12 months.
- Will lip filler make my lips look fake?
- Not with conservative dosing. 'Fake' lips come from too much product, the wrong placement, or both. Our approach is to enhance what you have, not change your face. Most first-time clients leave with results so subtle that only they and people who really know them notice — which is usually exactly what they wanted.
- Does lip filler hurt?
- Lips are sensitive, so we take comfort seriously. Numbing cream is applied for 20–30 minutes before, and the filler contains lidocaine that adds more numbing as it's injected. Most clients describe it as pressure and brief pinching. We go slow, give breaks, and stop if you need a minute.
- How long will I be swollen?
- Most swelling resolves within 48–72 hours. You'll likely look 'bigger' than your final result for the first 1–2 days. Plan around this — don't schedule lip filler the day before a major event.
- Can lip filler be dissolved if I don't like it?
- Yes — hyaluronidase dissolves it within 24–48 hours. For clinical issues (asymmetry, vascular complications, overfill from technique error) we dissolve at no charge. For 'I changed my mind' dissolution is a separate paid service. The right answer is to start conservatively so you don't end up needing dissolution — which is exactly our approach.
- Can I get lip filler before a wedding or event?
- Yes, but plan timing carefully. We recommend doing lip filler at least 3–4 weeks before any major event so swelling fully resolves AND you have time for a touch-up at the 2-week mark if needed. Don't schedule lip filler 3 days before your wedding.
- Am I a good candidate for lip filler?
- Most healthy adults are. We screen for active cold sores (we can prescribe antiviral prophylaxis if you have a history), pregnancy, certain autoimmune conditions, and unrealistic expectations. The free consultation is where we confirm fit.
