Chemical Peels in Oswego, IL

From gentle glow peels to deep correction — real medical-grade chemical peels customized to your skin and goals.

Chemical peels are one of the oldest treatments in aesthetics — and one of the most misunderstood. Done right, peels can dramatically improve tone, texture, sun damage, melasma, and acne. Done wrong, they can cause hyperpigmentation, scarring, or under-treatment that wastes your time and money. At Hello Gorgeous, peels are performed by licensed estheticians under Ryan Kent, FNP-BC's medical oversight, using medical-grade peel solutions matched to your skin type and goals — not a one-size-fits-all menu.

What is Chemical Peels? How it works

Chemical peels use acid solutions to controllably remove layers of dead and damaged skin, triggering the body to produce new, healthier skin. Light peels (glycolic, mandelic, lactic) work at the surface — gentle exfoliation with minimal downtime, suitable for monthly use. Medium peels (TCA, Jessner) penetrate deeper — more dramatic results but with several days of visible peeling. Deep peels are reserved for specific cases and require medical clearance. The right peel depth depends on your skin type, your goals, and your tolerance for downtime. We assess each client individually and recommend the right peel for their situation.

Pricing & packages

Light peels start from $99. Medium peels start from $189. Series packages available. Deep peels (rarely indicated) are quoted individually with medical clearance. Free consultation to determine the right peel.

What to expect at your appointment

  1. Free consultation — assessment of skin type, goals, and history. We screen for contraindications (active skin infections, recent retinoid use, certain medications, history of cold sores).
  2. Pre-treatment regimen — for medium and deep peels, we may have you use specific products at home for 2–4 weeks before to prep your skin.
  3. Treatment — peel solution applied in measured layers; you'll feel warmth and tingling. Most peels take 15–30 minutes.
  4. Recovery — light peels: minimal downtime, mild redness for hours. Medium peels: 3–7 days of visible peeling, post-peel kit with specific products to support healing.
  5. Follow-up — series of 3–6 light peels spaced 4 weeks apart for compounding results; single medium peels with 4–6 month gaps.

Frequently asked questions

Which peel is right for me?
Depends on your skin type, goals, and how much downtime you can manage. Sensitive skin or first-time clients usually start with light peels. Significant sun damage, melasma, or texture issues may benefit from medium peels. We design your plan at consultation.
How much do peels cost?
Light peels start from $99, medium peels from $189. Series packages reduce per-session pricing. Exact quote at your consultation based on the peel you need.
Will I peel visibly?
Depends on depth. Light peels: minimal flaking, sometimes none. Medium peels: visible peeling for 3–7 days, similar to a sunburn. Deep peels: significant peeling with substantial recovery.
Can peels treat melasma?
Some peels (especially those with kojic acid, mandelic, or specific TCA formulations) can help with melasma — but melasma is tricky and requires combination treatment with at-home regimens, sun protection, and sometimes other modalities. We'll be honest about realistic expectations.
What's the downtime?
Light peels: hours to a day. Medium peels: 3–7 days. We plan around your calendar — don't get a medium peel 3 days before a wedding.
Can I do peels in summer?
Yes, but we adjust strategy and emphasize sun protection. Heavy sun exposure after a peel is a recipe for hyperpigmentation. We may recommend lighter peel options in summer and saving deeper peels for fall and winter.
