GLP-1 medications (glucagon-like peptide-1 agonists) mimic a hormone your body produces naturally after eating. They slow gastric emptying (so you feel full longer), reduce appetite signals from the brain, and stabilize blood sugar. For most clients, this translates to eating less without feeling deprived, fewer food cravings, and gradual sustained weight loss over the course of months. Semaglutide is the older, more-studied option. Tirzepatide is a newer dual-action medication (GLP-1 + GIP receptor agonist) that produces somewhat stronger results in clinical trials for many patients.
