Weight management
Understanding GLP-1 care
GLP-1 is a hormone your body already makes. Some FDA-approved medications mimic that pathway for weight management. Brand examples, when they fit, include Wegovy® and Zepbound®. When a compounded GLP-1 is prescribed, it is prepared by a licensed US pharmacy for an individual patient. It is not FDA-approved, not a generic, and not the same as Ozempic®, Wegovy®, Mounjaro®, or Zepbound®. Branded options may be discussed when they fit.
